I SAW YOU ON FACEBOOK

Dedicated to my “friends” “Everything old is new again”
I saw you on “Facebook” … and the years fell away
How amazing to see
Who you are today
Your face was familiar
I looked closely and knew
After all of this time…
I remember you
Forever and longer
Has passed since we met
I rarely remember
But I never forget
How carefree we were
In those innocent days
Though the details are lost in a foggy haze
We grew up – we grew older
We got caught up in life
Being somebody’s mother, or husband, or wife
But I saw you on Facebook
It’s all coming clear
Mark Z you deserve to be “Person of the Year”
You’ve pushed back the decades
That have passed us all by
To those hallowed halls of “Woodward High”
To our roots where our journey’s had just begun
When we thought we’d be forever young.
From a long ago and far away nap
Cyberspace happened and bridged the gap
And now sweet nostalgia can flourish and grow
We can “friend” one another wherever we go
We can look at the faces – grown older it’s true
And say with a smile…
I remember you
