Woodward High School Class of '66
50th Reunion
Cincinnati - June 2016
I got your emails From near and far
Saying what you're doing and who you are
Familiar names from a distant past
When I was a child in a high school class
I looked up your picture and then I knew
A face with a name - a long ago you
Time melts away for an instant I see
The teenage kids we used to be
Some of us passed one another each day
With barely a glance and nothing to say
Others were friends and connections were made
Some of us left and some of us stayed
Some of us married decades ago
Some lost touch and we'll never know
Some had lives filled with passion and pride
Some accomplished - some struggled
And some of us died
But 50 years later- many are here
To reconnect and reappear
Look close at the faces - let the years fade away
Remember each other from that long ago day
We were all very different - and so very young
Our journeys in life had just begun
Now we're seniors again - for real this time too
But I'm still me and you're still you
We remember together
With nostalgia we share
Those days in a place that is no longer there
The statue still stands but the building is gone
Long ago memories lingering on
Our 50th reunion
Those years flew by fast
G-d speed in the future
-as we remember the past
Saying what you're doing and who you are
Familiar names from a distant past
