It’s Mother’s Day and you’re not here
I miss you most this time of year
Wherever I go, whatever I do
Deep in my heart…is part of you
No one loved me like you did
No one ever will
Often I can sense you
And feel you’re with me still
I miss your voice on the phone each day
I miss the way you cared
I miss your reassurance
When I was sad or scared
I miss your wit and wisdom
How you knew just what to say
I miss your smile. I miss your face
I miss you every day
The world goes on in madness
How I wish that you were here
To tell me everything’s all right
To take away my fear
I hope that there’s a heaven
Where your spirit now is free
And you’re flying with the angels
Watching down on me
Often I gaze in the mirror
Or at the grandkids from afar
An expression.. a look..or a feeling
And “Mama, there you are”
